Met Éireann warns of high pollen for the bank holiday weekend

As the weather gets warmer, so too does the rise in pollen, and for people with seasonal allergies, this can be a difficult period.

Met Éireann has said that the tree pollen season is now officially underway, warning that pollen from Ash, Alder and Cypress trees is present.

Met Éireann has released its pollen forecast for May 1, and said that this bank holiday weekend will have high levels of pollen.

The report includes that in Leinster, Munster, Connacht and Ulster will all have high levels of pollen on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

As well as tree pollen, Met Éireann warns that there are also rising levels of grass pollen being observed across the country.

There are also medium levels expected for fungal spores, types like Aspergillus can thrive on dryer days.
