Lannanaria, formerly Altcrock, Corlough, Co. Cavan

Died suddenly at Cavan General Hospital on Thursday, 7th May 2026, surrounded by her heartbroken family.

Predeceased by her loving parents Tom and Baby, her infant brother Patrick and her angel grandson Zach

Maureen will be sadly missed and forever loved by her husband Oliver; her adored children Olivia (Ollie Plunkett), Aisling (Mick O’Callaghan), Michelle (Paul Prior), Noelle (Peter McGovern), Ronan (Marisa McNeill), Yvonne (Cian Feehan) and Derek (Edel Corby) and her cherished grandchildren Tom, Jamie, Éabha, Saoirse, Olivia, Paddy, Maria, Mark, Anna, Ben, Sophie, Ellen, Tess, Laura & Evan.

Deeply regretted by her brother Gerard McGoldrick (Teresa), sisters Patricia (Jim Lavin) and Geraldine (Kevin McWeeney), sister-in-law Maureen McCabe, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, and her many treasured friends, especially her best friend Lannie.

Reposing at her home, H14K124, this Saturday evening, 9th May, from 4pm to 7pm, and also reposing at Smith’s Funeral Home, High St., Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim, N41 TD62, on Sunday, 10th May, from 5pm to 7pm.

Removal from her home on Monday morning, arriving to St. Patrick’s Church, Corlough for Funeral Mass at 12 noon followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.

Tony McDermott

Donge, Cootehill, Cavan

Tony McDermott, Kitimat, British Columbia, Canada, and formerly of Donge, Cootehill, passed away on 18th March 2026 in Kitimat, Canada, following a long illness borne with dignity and quiet resilience.

Survived and sadly missed by his wife Margaret; children Cara, Declan and Enda; adored grandchildren Roan, Neve, Faye and Claire; son-in-law Ed, and daughter-in-law Katie.

Beloved son of the late Teddy and Margaret McDermott of Donge, Cootehill, and much loved brother of PJ, Máire, Marguerite, Seamais and Philomena.

Deeply mourned by his loving family, siblings, nephews and nieces, extended family, and his many friends in Canada and Ireland.

He is predeceased by his parents, Teddy and Margaret, and his first wife, Ann.

May His Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

Tony will be remembered at 11.30am Mass in St. Michael’s Church, Cootehill on Sunday 24th May 2026.

The death has occurred of Adele McKenna, Creighan Manor, Cavan, Co. Cavan, Friday, 8th May, peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her father Raymond. Sadly missed by her loving fiancé Shane O’Neill, mother Bronagh, sisters Karen (Liam) and Cabrina, brothers Matthew (Ruth) and Daryll (Rachael), aunts, uncles, nephews Harry, Caodhán, Callan and Luca, cousins and many friends.

Reposing at 3, Cornagleragh, Cavan Town, H12 C582, on Saturday from 2.00pm until 4.30pm and from 5.00pm until 8.00pm. House private at all other times, please. Removal on Sunday at 1.30pm to St Brigid’s Church, Killygarry, to arrive for Requiem Mass at 2.00pm, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road Cavan (H12RF78) tomorrow Saturday May 9th, from 4.00pm until 7.00pm. Requiem Mass on Monday May 11th at 12 noon in St. Felim’s Church, Ballinagh, followed by burial in the new cemetery.

Doreen Woods (née Magee) Makief, Killeshandra, County Cavan. Friday 8th May 2026, peacefully in Cavan General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her loving husband Storey, sisters Lily Gilpin and Iris Bennett, brothers William and George Magee. Doreen will be very sadly missed by her daughters June (Douglas) and Gwen (Terry) and son Derek. Grandchildren Adam, Jack, Bobby, Kerri, Erin, Gracie and Megan, sister-in-law Essie, nieces, nephews,neighbours and all the family circle.

The death has occurred of Michael (Mick) Joyce. Retired Garda Sergeant, retired Church Sacristan. Glann, Oughterard, Co. Galway & Drumgoan, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan. 8th May 2026. Peacefully, surrounded by his cherished family, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

Predeceased by his parents Tom & Julia, his sisters Mary & Nancy, his brothers John, Stephen, Francis & Patsy and his infant children Thomas, Lucy & Francis.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by his beloved wife Kathleen, his daughters Olive, Fiona (Mike) & Jacinta (Patrick) and his sons Fr Stephen & Michael, his sister-in-law Josie, his nephews, nieces, neighbours & friends.

Mick's funeral cortège will leave his home, Drumgoan, on Monday, 11th May, driving to the Convent Hill and from there proceeding on foot to St. Joseph's Church, Carrickmacross, A81 K253, arriving for Funeral Mass at 12 noon followed by burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
