The death has occurred of Mai Cosgrove (née Clyne) number two, Cusack estate, Ballyjamesduff. Mai died peacefully in the care of the staff at Cavan General Hospital with her loving husband Barney at her side.

Predeceased by her daughter Mary Mc Clone and son James Mc Clone. Sadly missed and deeply regretted by her husband Barney, his son Bernard, her relations and all her neighbours and friends in Ballyjamesduff and beyond.

Mary Cullivan, 5 Verschoyle House, Verschoyle Place, Dublin 2 and formerly Cathedral Rd, Cavan Town, Monday May 11th 2026, peacefully in the loving care of her family and the wonderful staff at Castlemanor Nursing Home. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Mary and her brother Philip. Mary was dearly loved and will be very sadly missed by her siblings, Gene, Joe, Michael, Tom, Kieran, Ann, Catherine, Mildred and John, her sisters in law, Dolly, Anna, Nance and Olivia, brother in law Howard, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, all her extended family and her many friends.

Mary will repose at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd, Cavan (H12C821) on Wednesday evening from 5pm until 7pm. A memorial service for Mary will take place in the Funeral Home on Thursday morning at 11 o'clock and will be followed by a cremation service in Lakelands Crematorium at 12 noon. FAY, Vincent (Vinnie) (Harold’s Cross, Dublin and formerly of Pullabawn, Carrickaboy, Co. Cavan) – 10th May 2026. Peacefully, with his three children by his side, at Harold’s Cross Hospice. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters Mary-Ellen, Nan, Kathleen, Lily, Lucy, John and Eugene. Beloved husband of Eileen and much loved father of Paul, Nigel and Jackie. Vinnie will be forever loved and sadly missed by his wife, sons, daughter, daughters-in-law Breda and Roslyn, grandchildren Katie, Kerri, Ciara, Martin and Laoise, sister-in-law Kathleen, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Vinnie will repose on Wednesday evening (13th May) at Fanagans Funeral Home, 92 Lower Kimmage Road (D6W N279) from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday morning (14th May) at 11.30am in Church of St. Paul of the Cross, Mount Argus followed thereafter by cremation committal prayers at The Garden Chapel, Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross (D6W HY98).

The death has occurred of Mary Murtagh (nèe Clarke), Cloughbally Upper, Mullagh, County Cavan, and late of Edengore, Tierworker, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, 11th of May, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband James, and her daughters Ailish, Irene and Maureen, and her grandson Cormac. Also her parents, Jane and Peter, and her sisters Brigid, Annie, Jenny, and her brother Peter.

Much loved mother of Carmel (Gerry), Thomas (Gabrielle), Jane (Peter), James, Peter, Rosie (Aidan) and Bernie (Fergus). A much adored and loved Granny Murtagh to her 18 grandchildren, and cherished great-grandmother to her 20 great-grandchildren.

Deeply regretted by her sons and daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, friends and neighbours, extended family, and her beloved dogs Yogi and Torries.

Removal to St. Killian's Church, Mullagh, arriving for 11 o'clock Funeral Mass on Wednesday, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Tansey, Kathleen, (née Gaffney) – 10th May 2026, (Drumcondra and formerly of Cavan), Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and in the wonderful care of staff at St. Francis hospice, Raheny.

Much loved wife of John and loving mother of Luke, Johnny, Anna and Bernie.

Very sadly missed by her husband, sons and daughters, sons-in-law Peter and Adam, daughters-in-law Lorraine and Sabrina, grandchildren Kyle, Shane, Maya, April and Keelan, brothers Patsy, John and Jimmy and sisters Brenda, Carmel and Margaret, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

The death has occurred of Hazel Merrin, nee Roche, Ballyloughan, Carrickmacross. Peacefully 9th May 2026 at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin. Predeceased by her husband Tom and infant daughter Rebecca.

Hazel will be missed and remembered by her loving son Richard, her brother John, sisters Mary, Ann and Joyce, brothers-in-law Tom, Ambrose and Michael, sisters-in-law Elizabeth and Claudia, nephews, nieces and a wide circle of neighbours and friends.

Hazel will rest at Deery's Funeral Home, Carrickmacross, A81 C653 on Tuesday 12th May from 5pm to 7pm. The funeral cortège will leave Deery's Funeral Home on Wednesday 13th May on foot to arrive at St Finbarr's Church, Carrickmacross for Funeral Service at 2pm followed by interment in God's Acre, Dundalk Road, Carrickmacross.
