Tributes paid to ‘gentleman’ biker who lost his life
The funeral of a man, who died following a fatal road collision in Fermanagh last Sunday, will take place tomorrow (Thursday). Michael Kenna (39) from Annagh Park, Belturbet, died when the motorcycle he was driving in the Marble Arch Road area of Florencecourt crashed on Sunday morning, May 24. The single vehicle collision was reported to police around 6am but the father of one was pronounced dead at the scene.
Tributes paid online have described Mr Kenna as a “gentleman”, with many expressing sympathy to his family and loved ones.
Highciders Motor Cycle Club sent their deepest condolences to Michael’s family, friends and son.
“Michael was a keen motorcycle enthusiast, and had attended our annual rally in September and had supported many charity runs and events we held over the years.
“He will be greatly missed by his son, family and many many friends. R.I.P Michael.”
Michael is survived by his loving family, son M.J., father Joe, sister Geraldine, brother in law Anthony, relatives and friends.
His remains will repose at Lawlors Funeral Home, Ernehill, Belturbet, this evening (Wednesday) from 5:30pm until evening prayers at 7pm. Michael's funeral mass will be celebrated tomorrow morning (Thursday) at 11am in the Church of Immaculate Conception, Belturbet, followed by burial in Drumalee cemetery.
Meanwhile, police are continuing their enquiry and appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have any information that could assist with their investigation, including dash-cam or other footage, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 310 of 24/05/26.
