Minister Dara Calleary to visit Monaghan today for community project launches

Minister for Rural and Community Development, Dara Calleary TD, is set to visit County Monaghan this afternoon, Tuesday, June 2, for a whistle-stop tour of a range of projects supported by his Department in partnership with Monaghan County Council.

During the visit, the Fianna Fáil TD will engage with communities and officially open or inspect several initiatives at various stages of development and completion.

Among the highlights of the visit, Minister Calleary will officially launch the new Cloughvalley Sensory Park in Carrickmacross, as well as recreational improvements at Black Island in Castleblayney.

He will also visit Aughnamullen GFC, where he will view the club’s newly developed spectator stand and community gym. Further stops include the Newbliss Digital Hub and Ballinode Community Centre, both of which reflect ongoing investment in rural services and infrastructure.

In addition, the Minister will mark the commencement of works on the Market House and Market Square Project in Castleblayney, a key regeneration initiative for the town. He will also turn the sod on a new serviced motorhome site in Monaghan Town, signalling the beginning of construction on a tourism-focused development.
