Geri Halliwell-Horner to ‘spice up’ new series of Only Murders In The Building

Spice Girl Geri Halliwell-Horner and Emmy-winning actor Martin Freeman are among the stars joining the sixth series of Only Murders In The Building.
The latest season of the US crime comedy, which will be set in London for the first time, will also feature Jamie Demetriou, Jane Horrocks, Anjana Vasan, Derek Jacobi and Lesley Nicol.
The Emmy-winning show follows a crime-solving trio, played by Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez, who have a podcast about murders committed in their swanky New York City apartment building.
The new additions to the cast were revealed in a post to the show’s official Instagram on Thursday which led with a picture of singer Halliwell-Horner – known as Ginger Spice.
The caption said that she will be “spicing up” the latest instalment of the hit show.
The singer and TV personality, 53, is best known for her role in the chart-topping girl group alongside Lady Victoria Beckham, Melanie Chisholm, Melanie Brown and Emma Bunton.
Halliwell-Horner has previously acted, having played herself in musical comedy film Spice World (1997) and more recently featured alongside Orlando Bloom and David Harbour in sport film Gran Turismo (2023).
Freeman, known for roles in BBC drama Sherlock and UK comedy The Office, will also join the latest series of the award-winning show along with Stath Lets Flats star Demetriou.
They will be joined by Horrocks, who is best known for starring in BBC sitcom Absolutely Fabulous, as well as award-winning actor Jacobi and Downton Abbey star Nicol.
Singaporean actress Vasan, who appeared in sci-fi series Black Mirror, is also among the newcomers to the hit show.
The show’s fifth series featured a star-studded cast, including Oscar-winning actresses Meryl Streep and Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Inside Out star Richard Kind and Emmy-winner Nathan Lane.
Only Murders In The Building has also previously featured the likes of Antman star Paul Rudd, actress and author Shirley MacLaine, comedian Tina Fey and Bridget Jones star Renee Zellweger.
The new 10-episode series will stream on on Disney+ internationally.
