Monaghan manager Gabriel Bannigan.

Home draw for Monaghan as All-Ireland picture becomes clearer

Breaking

Monaghan will host Westmeath in the last 12 of the All-Ireland SFC after the draw was made on Monday morning. For a third consecutive round of the All-Ireland series, Monaghan have been handed a home draw, with the Leinster champions set to visit Clones next weekend (June 20/21).

Gabriel Bannigan’s side had a 1-20 to 0-14 win over Roscommon in Round 2B, while Westmeath’s late rally in Salthill fell just short of catching Galway (3-21 to 2-21). The draw on RTÉ Radio 1 threw up some high-profile clashes, including the meeting of the last two All-Ireland winners: Kerry and Armagh. Donegal will travel to Dublin, while Mayo will welcome Meath to Castlebar. The four winners will join Tyrone, Louth, Galway and Cork in the quarter-finals.

All-Ireland SFC Round 3 draw:

Monaghan v Westmeath

Dublin v Donegal

Mayo v Meath

Kerry v Armagh

The games will take place on June 20-21 with the CCCC to confirm fixture details shortly.
