Hundreds of homes and businesses affected by power outage

Hundreds of homes and businesses near the centre of Cavan Town have been affected by a major power outage this afternoon.

The outage, which has been identified on the Derrycramph power line, was first reported shortly before 2pm today, Tuesday, June 23.

A number of businesses on the Dublin Road, just outside Cavan Town centre, including Aldi, have been impacted by the disruption.

In total, 874 ESB customers are affected. The network provider has indicated that power is expected to be restored by approximately 3pm.

ESB said: “We apologise for the loss of supply. We are currently working to repair a fault affecting your premises and will restore power as quickly as possible.”
