John ''Sean'' Galligan

Glasnevin, Dublin / Cavan

John "Sean" Galligan, Glasnevin, Dublin, Monday 29th June 2026, peacefully in the loving care of his family and the wonderful staff at the Mater Hospital, Dublin. Predeceased by his parents Tom and Kathleen, brothers Phil and Chris and his sister Bridie. Sean was dearly loved and will be very sadly missed by his devoted wife and best friend Mar (nee Harwood), his siblings Pete (May), Barry (Dympna), Kathleen and Margaret, brothers in law Jim (Mary) and Niall (Deirdre), nephews, nieces, his carer Ewa, all his extended family and his many friends.

Reposing at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd, Cavan (H12 C821) on Wednesday evening from 5pm until 7pm. Remains leaving the house of his brother in law Jim on Thursday morning at 11.30am, travelling to St. Patrick's Church, Drumcor (H12 YP76) for a Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial will take place afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu to the Palliative Care Unit at the Mater Hospital, Dublin c/o McMahon Funeral Directors, Farnham Rd, Cavan via donation box in the Funeral Home. Peter Lawlor

Elm Grove, Cavan Town, Cavan

The death has occurred of Peter Lawlor. Elm Grove Cavan. Formerly Peckham, London. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Ann Lawlor and brother Raymond. Sadly missed by his sons Ryan and Callum. His loving sister Dodo (JP), his brothers Patrick and Tony, aunt Martha Cahill (Pat), Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Neighbours and many dear friends.

A private funeral service for family and close friends will take place in Lakelands Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 1st at 1pm, followed by cremation.

Rose McKenna (née Mullen)

Drumole, Tullyco, Cootehill, Cavan, H16 WY00

The death has occurred of Rose McKenna (nee Mullen), Drumole, Tullyco, Cootehill, Co. Cavan. Tuesday, June 30th 2026 peacefully at home in the presence of her loving family in her 95th year. Predeceased by husband Tom, parents Michael and Kathleen, sons Pádraic and Baby Eugene, brother Michael and sister Kathleen.

Rose will be sadly missed by her loving family, her son Thomas (Michelle), daughters Mary (John) and Treena (Finbar), grandchildren Lonan, (Tara) Dallan, Damon, Lorcan, Fionan, Aideen, Jack, Clodagh, Niamh, Meghan, Aoife, Aislinn and Finn, great-grandchildren Indie, Isla, Rian and Chloe, daughters-in-law Una and Jackie, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Birdie Traynor

Rose Cottage, Kingscourt Road, Shercock, Cavan

Peacefully at Castleross Nursing Home on Sunday, 28 June. Predeceased by her parents Bella and Jim, her siblings Sean and Sheila. Sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at her residence on Wednesday 1st July from 2 p.m to 8 p.m. Removal on Thursday 2nd July to arrive at St Patrick's Church, Shercock, for Funeral Mass at 11a.m. Burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please.

Brian Lennon

Braddox, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Brian Lennon, long time resident of West London and more recently Scotland; formerly of Shanmullagh, Braddox, Co Monaghan. Brian passed away peacefully on Tuesday 23rd June 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his beloved parents, Barney and Catherine, and his infant brother John Patrick.

Brian will be forever loved and deeply missed by his devoted wife, Maura; his loving children, Sinead, Simone, Gary, Brad and Niall; their wives,husband and partner and his grandchildren, Marianne, Cian, Conor, Eilish and Saoirse. Also, his two sisters Tessie Dwan (Pat) Tullycorbet, and Dettie McBride (John) Aghabog, as well as his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins; extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
