Monaghan Volunteer Awards
Monaghan Volunteer Centre and Monaghan Integrated Development officially launched the 2026 County Monaghan Volunteer Awards.
The launch took place at Monaghan Town Courthouse and was attended by Linda Moore, 2025 Volunteer of the Year; Mark Cummins from Cu Chulainn Blood Bikes and Sinéad Keenan and Eoin Treanor from Monaghan Volunteer Centre.
Now in its 19th year, the County Monaghan Volunteer Awards celebrate the outstanding contributions of volunteers and voluntary organisations across County Monaghan.
The 2026 awards will include four categories: Volunteer of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, Volunteer Group of the Year and Volunteer Team of the Year.
The winners of the 2026 awards will be announced at a special ceremony on Sunday, October 4, at the Íontas Theatre in Castleblayney. All nominees will be invited to attend, and their contributions will be recognised on the night.
Each category winner will receive a perpetual trophy and a commemorative. All nominees will receive a certificate of recognition.
Nominations can be submitted in three ways. The easiest way is online or by email, with nomination forms available at www.volunteermonaghan.ie
An editable PDF version of the nomination form and award criteria is also available on the same website or by contacting Eoin Treanor on 087 369 3989 or by emailing eoin@volunteermonaghan.ie
The form may also be printed and completed by hand before being returned to the Monaghan Volunteer Centre office. Anyone who cannot print the form can collect one from the Volunteer Centre office or contact Eoin to have one posted out.
The closing date for all nominations is Friday, September 4, at 5pm.
Winners from the County Monaghan Volunteer Awards will also be nominated for the national Volunteer Ireland Awards. Members of the public can also submit nominations directly to the national awards when they open in the Autumn, with further information available on the Volunteer Ireland website.
