Green light for 44 new houses in Doohamlet
MONAGHAN County Council has granted planning permission to a local developer to build 44 new houses in Doohamlet.
Connolly Partnership, will now build five semi-detached bungalows and 39 two-storey detached, semi-detached and terraced houses on a 1.87 hectare site behind Connolly’s Pub in the village.
When completed, the development of new-builds will significantly add to the housing stock in the south Monaghan village halfway between Ballybay and the N2.
County planners granted permission for the development this week.
A spokesperson for the developers told the Celt the houses will be brought to market in the "coming years".
“This is welcomed and a much-needed development for the village,” the spokesperson said.
