Síolta Chroí expansion

THE Síolta Chroí social enterprise and educational centre in Carrickmacross is seeking to construct an extension to its retreat centre to provide short-term accommodation.

This month, the applicants, Gareth and Karen Conlon, provided Monaghan County Council with additional information on their plans for the site at Aghacloghan, Carrickmacross.

Síolta Chroí ("Seeds of the Heart") was co-founded in 2020 by Gareth Conlon and Karen Jeffares to restore Ireland's ecosystems and communities.

The team runs an environmental education centre offering courses and retreats on permaculture, regenerative agriculture, food forest design, mushroom cultivation, yoga and meditation.

A decision on the application is expected in the coming weeks.
