Six teams left in Monaghan SFC

The Greenfield Foods Monaghan SFC group stage concluded on Sunday, with Castleblayney sealing the last place in the knock-out stages.

Goals by Charlie McQuillan, Mark Treanor and Ultan McMahon were enough for Blayney to hold off a Stephen Mooney-inspired Cremartin comeback and win by 3-11 to 1-15 to finish second in a very competitive Group Two.

Meanwhile, a brace of goals from Brian Greenan helped Clontibret come from six points down to pip Truagh and top the group.

Scotstown remained top of Group One via a comfortable win over Inniskeen, so they join Clontibret in taking the direct route to the semi-finals.

The quarter-final pairings are: Castleblayney v Inniskeen; and Carrickmacross v Truagh.
