Five hospitalised following weekend crash on Cavan Fermanagh border

Five people were taken to hospital following a two-vehicle road traffic collision near the Cavan-Fermanagh border last weekend.

Police received a report of the collision on the N54/A3 Cavan Road near Leggykelly shortly before 9:40am, with emergency service personnel attending the scene.

Sergeant McKenna attached to the PSNI said five were taken to hospital for treatment for their injuries, none believed to be life-threatening at the time.

A man, the driver of one of the cars, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving while unfit.

He was later released on bail.

The PSNI confirmed that enquiries are ongoing, with officers appealing to anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

They are particularly keen to hear from anyone with mobile or dashcam footage, or any information that could assist with their investigation.
