Italian fiddle player Marco Fabbri will play at the NYAH festivities tonight.

The Fleadh returns for one night only

Savour the taste of the Fleadh one more time as the big Nyah 10th birthday gathering takes place this Friday in Cavan town.

The trad festival will see the Farnham Arms Hotel host a wealth of Irish and international talent for a night to remember. The bill includes musicians, singers and dancers too numerous to mention - and the whole event is free!

Amongst the top international names are Italian fiddle player Marco Fabbri and bouzouki expert Gabriel Caporuscio. Piano accordionist Dean Warner will also be on board as will New York’s fiddle player Eleanor Allen, and Graham Wells who promises to bring us songs and tunes from Newfoundland, Canada.

The Irish artists include harpist extraordinaire, Kavan Donohoe, The Bucks of Duibhlinn Group, and GLEO, who are all young members of Cavan Town Comhaltas.

There will also be a launch of new album, ‘The Foxford Way’ from multi-instrumentalist Stephen Doherty, who has just finished work on a new duo recording with fellow Foxford musician Patrick Doocey on guitar.

Also on the billing are Cavan Town Comhaltas group, Cavan Town Set Dancers, Scottish Céilí club, Felix McQuaid (banjo), Antoin McGabhann (fiddle), Fintan McManus (bouzouki), The Bent Elbow, Drumlish youth session group, Larry McQuaid (bodhran), Martin Murphy (drums), Darren Maloney (banjo), Eamonn Maguire (storyteller), Sean Owens (flute), Aoife Murray (singer), Cathal Lynch (singer), Mairead Lynch (fiddle), Mickey McDonnell (banjo).
