Cavan hold on to defeat Waterford
Cavan hung on to defeat Waterford in a poor-quality Allianz Division Three clash at Breffni Park today. The hosts led by 0-6 to 0-4 at the break, with points from Padraic O'Reilly, Ronan Flanagan (free), Mark McKeever and Cian Mackey but a Waterford goal early in the second half brougth them back into it. To their credit, Cavan - inspired by Ray Cullivan at midfield - took the initiative and a super 15-minute spell yielded points from Sean Johnston, Cullivan and Ger Pearson as Cavan took a five-point lead.
