Miss Cavan's out but definitely not down

She didn't come back from Dublin last Sunday with the Miss Ireland title, but Miss Cavan is gearing up for a week's fun at the Fleadh and has no regrets about vying for the hotly-contested crown. At a glittering ceremony in the D4 Ballsbridge Inn on Saturday night, Miss University Holly Carpenter was crowned Miss Ireland 2011, but our Cornafean beauty isn't looking back. "I'm glad Holly won it because she's a lovely girl," Orla graciously told The Anglo-Celt. "I really enjoyed my experience. It was really good fun and I met some really nice people." Asked about her future plans, Orla says she's "hitting the Fleadh in Cavan this week" and hopes to go to New York to pursue a modelling career later this year. Saturday's ceremony was hosted by Sinead Desmond from TV3's Ireland AM and Q102's Ray Shah. First runner up was Miss Antrim Rebecca Maguire and second runner up was Miss Buck Whaleys Dublin Aisling Alcock. Miss Ireland 2011 receives a lucrative modelling contract and a host of prizes, and will go on to represent Ireland in the Miss World Pageant which takes place in London on November 8.
