O Raghallaighs come good in style

The Sheridan Cup will winter in east Cavan after a well-balanced O Raghallaigh Gaels (Kingscourt and Shercock) side defeated holders Cavan Gaels at a wet and windy Breffni Park last Sunday afternoon. The winners' joint-manager Peter McKeon mentioned here last week that his side "expected to have to beat Cavan Gaels" if they were to replicate their 1997 success in winning the title; considering that the county town boys had been beaten just twice in 14 championship seasons, that was never going to be an easy task, but the amalgamation came good when it mattered here.
