Memory Lane photographers at Killeshandra Playschool

Memory Lane Professional Photographers will be at the Killeshandra Community Playschool on Wednesday 16th January from 2.30 p.m. onwards. 

  They offer reasonable rates for children's photographs.  If you wish for your child's photo to be taken please speak to the Playschool staff from 9a.m. – 1 p.m. @ 4334011 to book a time. 

Wildlife Conservation

Birdwatch Ireland Cavan Branch are holding an illustrated talk on wildlife conservation by local wildlife ranger David McDonagh in Kilmore Church Hall, Crossdoney  Road, Cavan (behind Church of Ireland Cathedral) at 8 p.m. on  Thursday 17th January. Senior Scor meeting

 Senior Scor Meeting will be held in the G.A.A. Club Rooms on Saturday 19th January 2008 at 9 p.m. Anybody taking part and or anybody wishing to take part, please attend.

Carers monthly meeting

Bernadette Charles will address the Carers Monthly meeting on Wednesday 23rd  January at 8 p.m. in the Resource Centre, Killeshandra.  All family carers in the area are invited to join the group. 

Parent and Toddler Group

The Parent and Toddler Group meet every Wednesday at the Resource Centre, Killeshandra, from 10 a.m. - 12 noon.    All parents and babies/toddlers welcome –  just drop in!

Pike Anglers charity event

A boat pike anglers competition was held on Sunday 30th December at Eonish Lake, the event was well supported and §365 was raised for the Senior Citizens.   Thanks to Maggie's Bar for donating the prize, food and refreshments – and everybody had a  most enjoyable evening.

Jim Toms and Darren Bayliss won 1st Prize and Gerry Duffy and Seamus Sweeney won the 2nd Prize.    Fishing generally was good over the Christmas holidays with local pike angling guides Kieran McCormack and Paul O'Dowd returning pike of 21lb. and 19.5lb. respectfully. 

  The next Pike Competition will be held on Rockfield Lake on Sunday next 13th January 2008. 

Day Care Services

Full day care service on Friday next 11th January at the Resource Centre.  Newcomers are very welcome. Transport is available for anyone wishing to attend. Contact Marian at 049 4334983 for details. 

Junior Comhaltas Group

Music classes resume on Sunday next 13th January at the Resource Centre after 11.30 a.m. Mass.  Usual sessions will take place.    Wishing everyone a happy New Year and looking forward to seeing you all there. 

Adult Education spring courses

VEC Adult Education Spring courses enrolment evening on Tuesday next 15th January from 7.00 p.m. - 8.00 p.m. in the Resource Centre, Killeshandra.  Proposed Courses:  Woodturning, Art / Card-making, Drama Therapy, Fly Fishing, Computer (Introduc-tion) and  Digital Photography (Continuation).    For further information please come along on the night or contact Marian at 049 4334983. 

Leaguers annual general meeting

The club held their annual general meeting on Saturday last in the G.A.A. Clubrooms.   A detailed report is in the Sports Section. To celebrate the clubs success in 2007 a Dinner Dance will be held on Saturday next 12th January in the Hotel Kilmore.  Tickets are available from Pat @ 087 6581807 or Donagh @ 087 9205411.  The club also wishes to congratulate and thank all sponsors who supported them throughout the past year.   A club calendar is on sale in outlets in Killeshandra – be sure to get a copy.

Aqua-Aerobics for over-55s

An eight-week session of Aqua-Aerobic classes for Over 55s will commence at Cavan Swimming and Leisure Centre on Tuesday next 15th January.    Transport is available and bus leaves Kilconny at 11.00 a.m. and Killeshandra Resource Centre at 11.20 a.m.   Contact Marian at 4334983 for further details and bookings.

Local Library Service

The opening hours of the library service in Killeshandra are: Monday and Friday 3.00 p.m. – 5.00 p.m. Wednesday 7.00 p.m. – 8.00 p.m. The Library Room is situated downstairs at the Community Centre.   The local branch has a wide range of books for children and adults. 

Church of Ireland

Next Sunday, 13th January there will be Morning Prayer in Killeshandra at 10.30 a.m. and Holy Communion in Derrylane in at 12 noon.

 

Development and  Information Office

At the Development Office in the Resource Centre a range of training courses will also commence in the coming months.  We also provide a wide range of information on Training & Employment, Health Services, Local Government Services, Social Welfare, and Tourist information.  A wide range of office services are available - laminating, photocopying, typing, and designing posters/brochures/flyer - also internet and faxing facilities.    Contact @ 4334990 for details.    The Information Office is supported by Border Action through the EU Peace II Programme.
