Harriers in hunt for dancing champions
The Drumlin Harriers set off on a hunt of a different kind than they're used to last Saturday night. They were in search of their very own dancing champions as they launched their charity version of Strictly Come Dancing in the Tullyvin Tavern. There was a great air of anticipation and nervousness amongst the crowd and the dancers, as they awaited the pairings to be revealed. "We have some very good dancers this year which will make for a fantastic evening of entertainment. So that being said we are looking forward to seeing what they can do" said chairman of the Harriers, Gordon Drury. The large crowd were introduced to the 24 dancers before they displayed their potential dancing talent. The dancers will now train three times a week for the big show on March 30 under the expert guidance of trainer Lynn Jackson. Being put through their dance routines for the next few weeks, all contestants are giving up their free time to help raise money for local charities and schools. The proceeds from the event will be distributed distributed between the Holy family school Cootehill, MS Cavan, Kill Football club and the Drumlin Harriers. The competition itself will take place in Errigal Hotel on March 30 and organiser Gordon Drury promises a fun-filled night: "It should be a great night for everyone. We are very excited and the money taken from the tickets will be going to very worthy causes," he said. Tickets can be bought for €20 on the night or purchased at usual outlets.
