Toilets to be provided in Con Smith Pk

Toilets will be provided at Con Smith Park due to demand, Cavan Town Council has decided, and members have called on local donors or organisations to come forward if they can help with the capital cost, which will be in the region of €155,000. Following calls from members including Cllr Terry Argue, town engineer Alan Lyons last Thursday presented members with information about what would be involved in providing the facilities. When Mr Lyons informed members that there were no grants available and that the cost mentioned, which does not include ongoing cleaning and maintenance, would come from the council's own resources, Cllr Paddy Conaty mooted the idea that local funders for the facility may come forward, and Cllr Terry Argue echoed the call.
