The meaning of life on a rainy Friday afternoon

The competitor in me has to be as good as my colleague and partner-in-Rural-Rambles-crime Seán McMahon was last week, which sends me racing across the road in the wind and rain to ambush a passing postman on his bike. Born, bred and delivering post in Ballyconnell since 1982, Albert Johnston must know every crack on the pavement. "I do, and I've tripped on them sometimes!" he says, giving me the impression that he's happy out being a postman. "I know nothing else," he says contentedly. For full article and more pictures, as well as other news from the Ballyconnell area, see this week's Anglo-Celt.
