Get ready to rumble at the Auto Jumble
The Breffni Vintage Club will host its annual Auto-Jumble and Sale this Sunday, March 11, at the Ballinagh Community Centre, starting at 11am. This event is the first official calendar event for the club in this its 21st year and attracts stall holders and patrons from all over Ireland and is now regarded as the premier event of its kind in the land. Everything, from a needle to an anchor, can be found at the numerous automotive and collectors stalls. Over the years, the Auto-Jumble has proven to be the place to find that elusive part for veteran, vintage and classic motor cars, motorcycles, tractors, stationary engines, and indeed anything needed to keep your pride and joy on the road. But Auto-Jumbles have diversified to meet the increasing demand for models, books, collectables, bric-a-brac and antiques. Breffni Vintage Club is proud of the effort made by its members in building this even into the most successful of its kind and would encourage everyone to come along and savour the delight of the hustle and bustle of the collectors market. Of course, the Breffni Vintage Club holds this event to raise money for various charities and since its foundation in 1991, the club has contributed over €250,000 to good causes. In 2011, the club contributed €13,000 to the Chernobyl Trust and twelve local conferences of the St Vincent de Paul Society throughout Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim and Meath. So attending this event will contribute enormously to your local charities. The officers, committee and members look forward to seeing you there on Sunday, March 11, when the gates open at 11am. You never know just what you might find! For a detailed feature on the Breffni Vintage Club in its 21st year and the history of motoring in County Cavan, see this week's Anglo-Celt.
