It is with regret that we note the deaths of the following people from counties Cavan and Monaghan in the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Cormac Moore

Virginia, Cavan / Malahide, Dublin

Moore, Cormac, Virginia, Co. Cavan and late of Malahide, Co. Dublin. 1st October 2020. Peacefully in the care of the Mater hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Marie. Predeceased by his sisters Aine and Nuala and brother Diarmuid. Very sadly missed by his loving wife, sisters Eileen and Deirdre, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and a wide circle of friends.

May He rest in Peace.

Due to Government advice regarding public gatherings, a private family Funeral Service will take place.

John Reilly

Mullamagavan, Stradone, Cavan

John Reilly, Mullamagavan, Stradone, Co. Cavan, 2nd October, peacefully at St Joseph Nursing Home, Virginia. Predeceased by his brother Jimmy. Sadly missed by his cousins and wider family circle, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Rd., Cavan on Saturday from 7 pm until 8.30pm, removal on Sunday at 12.30 pm to St. Dympna’s Church, Upper Lavey to arrive for Requiem Mass at 1pm, cremation afterwards in Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Rd., Cavan.

Edward Sheridan

Tandragee, Bailieborough, Cavan

Edward Sheridan, Tandragee, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan, died 2 October 2020, peacefully at his residence. Predeceased by his wife Brigid, daughters Margaret and Clare and son Oliver. Deeply regretted by his daughters Una and Marion, sons Frankie, Martin and Gary, brother Charlie, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Due to current government guidelines Eddie's Funeral will be private to family and friends only. The funeral procession will leave his daughter Marion's home Sunday in Cloverhill at 11.15am to arrive at st Anne's Church, Bailieborough for Funeral Mass at 11.30am with burial afterwards in St. Anne's Cemetery.

Eileen McBennett (née Ward)

Corvoy, Ballybay, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Eileen McBennett, (nee Ward), Corvoy, Ballybay, Co. Monaghan, Friday October 2nd, peacefully, at her residence. Predeceased by her husband Packie and son Patrick. Eileen, deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family, daughters Margaret (King) Drogheda, Mary (King) Maudabawn, and Kathleen (Jones) Magheracloone, and son John, Tullycorbet, sons in law Hugh, Sean and Gerry, daughters in law Fiona and Siobhan, sister Sally Mc Mahon (Ballinode), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

May Eileen’s Gentle Soul Rest In Eternal Peace

Eileen will repose at home, amongst her family. Eileen’s funeral cortège will travel from the family home on Sunday morning at 9am, proceeding on foot, to arrive at the Most Holy Rosary Church, Tullycorbet, for Funeral Mass at 9.30am, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.

Due to the continued restrictions on public gatherings, Eileen’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the presence of her family. Family flowers only please.

Kevin McGuigan

Boraghy, Loughmourne, Castleblayney, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Kevin McGuigan, Boraghy, Loughmourne, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan, Thursday, October 1st, peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, after an illness bravely fought. Kevin, predeceased by his parents James and Brigid and grandson Tiernan. Deeply regretted and remembered with love by his wife Eileen, sons Stephen and wife Rosie, Barry and partner Amanda, Paul and partner Úna, sisters and brothers Teresa, Seamus, Mickey, Tom, Marie, Kathrina, Gerry and Willie, his cherished grandchildren, sisters in-law, brothers in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and many, many friends.
