Morris and Bradley return to Kingscourt and Ramor

GAA news

Kingscourt Stars’ hopes of winning the Senior Championship for the first time since 2015 have received a major boost with the news that Meath star Jordan Morris’s transfer from Nobber has been approved.

Morris began his football career with the Stars at juvenile level before moving to Nobber. He signalled his intention to return to Kingscourt but Nobber refused to grant the transfer, prompting a saga over recent weeks.

At one stage, it seemed unlikely the move would be given the green light but word came through last week that it had been approved. Kingscourt, who made the championship semi-final three times in the last five years, will be managed by Latton men Owen and Brendan Lennon this year and the return of Morris is sure to greatly increase their chances of landing the Oliver Plunkett Cup.

The 21-year-old is a regarded as the best scoring forward in Meath and one of the most prolific young attackers in the country.

Meanwhile, Ramor United will also be boosted by the return of former county player Conor Bradley.

Bradley represented Cavan at all levels and was an integral figure when Ramor won the Senior Championship in 2016, winning the county Player of the Year award. He later switched to Dunboyne, playing in the Meath county final, but has returned to Ramor and will be a major asset.

Bradley’s return will be crucial for the county champions as they look set to be without the outstanding Sean McEvoy, who has accepted an offer to take up a soccer scholarship in Baltimore, USA and will leave in August.
