Suspected diesel sludge dumped

Gardai in Carrickmacross are investigating the illegal dumping containers of suspected "diesel sludge".

Gardaí were seeking the public's help after three liquid cubes were dumped overnight - Tuesday, January 17 into Wednesday, January 18 - in the Mullanavannog area of Donaghmoyne.

A Garda spokesperson said: "Our colleagues at Monaghan County Council have been working to limit the environmental impact.

"If you have any information or observed a vehicle carrying these cubes please contact Gardaí at Carrickmacross Garda Station on 042 9690190."
