Tuesday was hottest day in 2023
County Cavan was one of the hottest placse to be in Ireland, and even hotter than many other European countries yesterday (Tuesday).
According to Met Éireann, their synoptic weather station at Ballyhaise recorded a maximum temperature of 26.5 degrees, and second hottest in Ireland, only after Carlow at 28.8 degrees.
Only Mount Dillon in Roscommon (26) and Athenry in Galway (25.9) came closer.
"Numerous other stations right across the country seeing temperatures in excess of 25°C," said Met Éireann, reporting that Tuesday was the warmest on record to date in 2023.
