Hughie Smith

The death has occurred of Hughie Smith, Ballysallagh, Ballynacargy, Co. Westmeath & Alexander Ave, Yonkers, New York following a brief illness, 2nd July 2023.
Formerly of Teeboy, Corlough, Co. Cavan & Ballinamore, Co. Letirim
Hughie will be sadly missed by his loving wife Sheila (Sheridan), his brothers & sisters Paddy (Barbara), Mary (John) Walsh, Lena Smith, Johnny Smith, Pauline (John) Hewitt and Patricia (Eugene) McCormack. His 16 nephews and nieces will miss him along with his many grand-nephews, grand-nieces, his many beloved cousins in Ireland and England and his sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law. Hughie’s passing is also deeply mourned by his many friends, neighbours, sporting and former work colleagues here and in the States.
A Celebration of Hughie's life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York, on Friday, July 7th from 4pm until 8 pm. Funeral Mass will take place at Saint Barnabas Church located at 409 E 241st St, Bronx, New York, on Saturday, July 8th at 11:00am.
Hughie will repose at Smith's Funeral Home, High St., Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim N41 TD62 this Sunday afternoon from 4.30pm until 6.00pm and on Monday at his home in Ballysallagh, Ballynacargy, Co. Westmeath N91 YV99 from 10am until 9pm.
Funeral Mass on Tuesday (July 11th) at 11am in the Church of the Nativity, Ballynacargy followed by burial in Sonna Cemetery.
