Team at The Lab pumped for success

A new business has officially opened its doors following its launch event last weekend.

The Lab is a new three-storey premises located in Cava Town combining leisure and fitness by boasting a fully-equipped gym, a make-up studio and a barber shop at 65 Main Street across from Eason, Cavan.

Speaking to The Anglo-Celt, co-owner Natasha Brady was delighted with the reception the team got at their grand opening last Saturday.

Visitors received free entry to the gym for the day, as well as special rates offered on new memberships.

The team were also active on Market Square where they staged competitions such as hang tough, free membership prizes, raffle prizes and more.

“We were running a discount day and we were running competitions both in the gym and in the town square, like hang tough and skier and that kind of stuff. We were giving out free membership to the people who won.

“Then I had a free masterclass here as well. It was a free make-up masterclass, by Natasha Murray, Pro Makeup [the brand under Natasha's maiden name].”

Business

Natasha and her husband Paddy Brady shared an interest in fitness and decided to take the leap and open their new business last year.

“So we basically had bought a lot of gym equipment about a year ago and had it in storage and, when this place became available to rent, we wanted to open up in town. So that’s now how the whole thing came together,” she revealed.

The new business boasts a team of four in the gym, as well as Sinead who runs an in-house barbers under the brand ‘Sinead’s Fades’.

“Paddy’s a qualified PT and gym instructor. We have a team here as well so there’s another Paddy and Ryan and we have a barber upstairs,” continues Natasha.

The proud co-owner explained the gym opens over the three floors, with 42 machines all together, as well as a range of free weights. There is also a room in which the team intends running classes, as well as renting out to other professionals.

“It’s going well so far, we have a lot of members, so we’re happy and looking to grow,” concludes Natasha.
