Fr. Oliver's farewell

A large crowd gathered in Milltown on Friday night last to bid farewell to Father Oliver O'Reilly C.C. who has been transferred to Bailieboro parish. Mass in St. Patrick's Church was concelebrated by Fr. Oliver with Rev. Dan Sheridan P.P., Drumlane, Rev. Sean Mawn, Belturbet, Rev. Hughie O'Reilly, Milltown and Rev. Benny Fitzpatrick who was on holidays from Lagos. After Mass a social was held in Drumlane Resource Centre where many tributes were paid to Fr. Oliver for his work in the community over the past five years. Presentations were made to him by the Pastoral Council, Community Development Committee, pupils and staff of Milltown N.S., and the Juvenile Hurling organisers of Drumlane G.F.C. The parishioners of Drumlane wish Fr. Oliver good health and happiness in his new ministry in Bailieboro.

Drumlane Community Partnership Ltd.

Fundraising Auction will take place on Saturday, 27th October in the Resource Centre Milltown at 2 p.m. Items will include household goods and furniture, toys, garden and farm equipment and farm produce, fuel supplies and assorted vouchers for a range of services. Items for this auction can be donated by contact any member of the committee. Annual meeting will take place on Saturday, 29th September. Milltown Foroige

The Foroige activities is restarting on this (Friday) 21st September from 8.30 to 9.30 p.m. All last years members requested to come along to finalise National Citizenship “Awards Entry”.

Dance Classes

Dance classes continue in Drumlane Community Centre. §8 per class. Ballet classes (aged 3 years and upwards) on Tuesdays at 4 p.m. Hip Hop (age 8 years to 12 years) on Tuesdays at 5 p.m. Teen Hip Hop on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. Contact Haley on 086-2511743.

Bishop Leo O'Reilly

Bishop Leo O'Reilly plans to make a three day Pastoral Visitation to Drumlane parish, probably around mid October.

First Holy Communion Drumlane parish

If your child is now in second class and you want him or her to receive First Holy Communion in 2008, please come to the information evening for parents to be held at your school, Milltown School, 1st October at 8.30 p.m. and Greaghrahan N.S. on 2nd October at 8.30 p.m.

Parent and Toddler Group

The Parent and Toddler Group in Drumlane will take place in the Resource Centre, Milltown, on Friday, 21st September. All welcome.

Annagh and Drumlane “Concern” church gate collection

Convent of Mercy N.S.

Writing for Radio workshops

Writing for Radio workshops commences on Fridays, September 28th, October 5th and October 12th. Fee §20. This course is ideal for people who want to start writing and also for writers who look for a new challenge. All ages welcome.

Bereavement Care

If someone close to you has died and you are finding it difficult to come to terms with your loss and you need to talk to a Bereavement Support worker there is a service available that is free and confidential. Please Phone (049) 4372999 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

Gift Programme

Parents of the Confirmation class 2007 who are willing to train as Leaders for the Gift Programme (growing faith together) please return forms to Fr. Sean Mawn. Training will take place in the Pastoral Centre in November.

Mature students go back to college

Many people from the locality have signed up at the College of Further Studies, Cavan. Back to education has become the norm with a wide and varied range of courses available at the college and has attracted many to go back to school. There are also evening courses available which are geared towards people who are working and wish to further their education.

Music classes continues every Friday evening in the Resource Centre, Milltown, 4.30 for beginners and 5.30 for improvers.

Fr. Sheridan off duty

Beginning Experience is a programme which offers support and hope to those who have lost a husband or wife through death and tho those caught up in the traumatic aftermath of separation. Rainbows is a Support Programme to help children a nd adolescents cope with grief or loss due to bereavement, separation or divorce. Monster Fund Raising Auction

To celebrate St. Aidans Comprehensive School's 40th. Anniversary and to raise much needed funds for the school, the Parents Association will hold a Monster Auction on Friday November 16th. in the Errigal Country Hotel, Cootehill. We are calling on all in our local communities to support us in our efforts. We are looking for donations of goods/vouchers/tickets/services etc. from any member of the community for the auction.
