At the Awards Ceremony held in Bord Bia in Dublin, Georgina Campbell presented the “Country House of the Year Award” to Richard Corrigan, Proprietor and Deirdre Corrigan, General Manager of Virginia Park Lodge, Virginia.

Prestigious award for Virginia Park Lodge

Virginia's Park Lodge Hotel, run by two-time Michelin Star winning chef Richard Corrigan, has been named Country House of the Year 2018 in the 2018 Georgina Campbell Awards. Overlooking picturesque Lough Ramor, the redeveloped 18th century sporting lodge was lauded among the very best in Irish hospitality at Bord Bia’s Thinking House in Dublin last week.

The Georgina Campbell Guide is considered a roadmap for visitors and tourists alike as a compilation of the country’s best hotels, country houses, guesthouses, restaurants, pubs, cafés and speciality food shops. Corrigan, who bought the property in 2013, has renovated the house and established productive gardens, which now supply his award-winning London restaurants. The guide notes of the Lodge: "You can’t beat a country house for a refreshing short break or to provide a atmospheric setting for special occasions - and this unusual place is a destination like no other."

A note of congratulations was included to Corrigan and his wife, who were married at the Lodge in 1991, by local Fine Gael Councillor Paddy Reilly at the recent monthly meeting of elected members. "It’s a wonderful achievement and we wish Richard and everyone there all the best."
