Breffni Photographer scoops gold

Winning picture

Members of Breffni Photography had lots to celebrate over the weekend as club member, Janet Redmond, scooped the top prizes in her category at The National Finals of the Irish Photographic Federation’s Photographer of the Year 2018 that took place in in Carlow.

Janet’s stunning images were chosen by the international judges to win the Gold and an Honourable Mention Certificate in the Non-Advanced Colour Theme Print Section. Accepting hte award Janet said that she was over the moon with the result, thanking her family, friends and fellow club members for their continued support.

The North East Region had even more to celebrate as the overall winner of Photographer of the Year 2018 was announced as James Cosgrove of Clones Photography Group.

When not attending Breffni club meetings at the Lakeside Manor Hotel, Janet can be found with her camera out and about the town and never far from the Virginia Ladies Rugby team side-lines recording momentous wins with her trusty Nikon camera.
