Pettit's in Granard closes for the last time

The Curtain Comes Down on Pettits Shop in Granard after 300 years. It mwas a poignant moment for the Pettit family on last Saturday night in Granard as John Joe Pettit, accompanied by his sister Ann and his brother Tom, turned the keys in the door for the last time, to officially close down the shop

It was a bitter sweet occasion on Saturday evening as the community of Granard came together to wish John Joe Pettit well as he closed up his shop on the main street for the final time. The family grocery has been in the Pettit family and trading in Granard town for over 300 years.

Reporter Sean McMahon was in conversation with John Joe on Saturday evening as he prepared to shut up shop.
