History was made in Kingscourt yesterday when the new €15million Colaiste Dun an Ri was officially opened by Minister Heather Humphreys. It was a magical day for the 165 students in the college, the Principal Fergal Boyle and the entire staff.

The virtues of those who dreamed big in relation to the project were extolled by various speakers including the Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation. Glowing tributes were extended to chairman of CMETB, Clifford Kelly, whose vision extended over 40 years of campaigning for a new college in the town.

The young people of the town and the area in general are the future and they can now look forward to an active learning experience in their magnificent new campus. The watched the new college grow from the site elevation before their very eyes.

To welcome the Minister, the College Choir sang the song 'This is Me' from the Musical, 'The Greatest Showman'.
