Neven's Cookery School scoops Award

Blacklion-native Neven Maguire has added another accolade to his growing collection of awards after the ‘The Neven Maguire Cookery School’ was awarded the title for ‘Best Cookery School’ by the Restaurant Association of Ireland.

The awards were held in the Clayton Hotel in Dublin on Monday night last. Attendees at the gala event were treated to a six-course gala dinner, prepared by a line-up of high-profile Irish chefs such as Shamzuri Hanifa of Cottage Restaurant, TV Chef, Gary O’Hanlon, Danni Barry of Clenaghans Restaurant, Keith Boyle of the Bay Tree Bistro in Waterford City and Elena Martinez of Crover House Hotel in County Cavan.

Over 1,000 restaurateurs and staff attended the sold out, black tie event which celebrated the achievements and perseverance within the industry over the last 12 months.

Passionate about teaching people how to cook, Neven fulfilled a long-held dream and opened the doors to ‘The Neven Maguire Cookery School’ in 2014.

Speaking following his win, Neven said: “Amelda and I are delighted to receive the award for Best Cookery School in Ireland. I am extremely proud of our loyal team in MacNean House, and I would like to thank them for their continued support and hard work. I am honoured to be recognised alongside some of the best people in the industry. It is always great to receive any award, but to receive the one for Best Cookery School in Ireland is a great honour for me.”
