Man loses life in Killeshandra lake tragedy

A 38 year old Moldovian national drowned in an incident in Town Lake in Killeshandra last Saturday [May 26]. The deceased man was a resident in Ballyconnell, but worked in a local firm in the Killeshandra area.

The man's body was recovered from the lake by members of Cavan Fire Service at around 10:10pm. He was taken by ambulance to Cavan General Hospital, however all efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at 01:10am.
