Thieves strike at rural church

Loughduff Church.

Unscrupulous thieves hit a parish church taking cash and a candelabra in the latest spate of thefts and burglaries around the county.

Theft from church

Garda are appealing for witnesses after a candelabra was stolen from a local church.
The candelabra, as well as cash from a nearby box, were taken from St Joseph's Church in Loughduff between the hours of 6pm and 10pm on June 8 last.

Lakeview burglary

Meanwhile, gardaí in Cavan Town are appealing for witnesses after a house in the Lakeview estate was entered and video games, a computer console, laptop and other household items stolen.


Seven drivers stopped for intoxication

Gardaí in Cavan stopped a total of seven drivers locally on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
There was, meanwhile, one simple drugs possession charge, at the playground in Belturbet, with the matter due before the courts in due course. Anyone with information to any of the incidents can contact gardaí at 049-4368800.
