Local clubs awarded €960k in sports funding

Sporting organisations in Cavan have benefitted to the tune of €960,289 in the latest round of Sports Capital Grant funding, which was announced yesterday.

The largest grant went to Belturbet Rory O'Moore's GFC, who were awarded €67,500 to install a natural grass surface with walking track.

Laragh Sports Partnership picked up €59,000, with Cootehill Celtic awarded €57,000 for the installation of a new training facility.

Cavan County Council (Multi purpose sports equipment): €4,300

Cavan County Council (Bowling Green Clubhouse): €3,000

Cavan Triathlon Club (Let's Tri Cavan Equipment): €2,800

Cootehill Celtic GAA (new training facility): €57,000

Corlough GAA Club (Upgrade pitch surface facilities and training area): €13,000

Cornafean GFC (Upgrade walking track and install lights): €8,500

Crosserlough GFC (Redevelopment of main Pitch with Walking Track): €41,500

Cuchulainns Gaelic Football Club (400m tarmac athletics track & training field): €55,000

Cavan Gaels GAA Club (Walking / Running track Terry Coyle Park): €12,000

Denn GFC (Dressing Rooms and Gym): €22,000

Droim Dhuin Eire Og GAA (Boyle Park Sports Hall Completion): €9,000

Drung GFC (New Dressing Rooms, Shower & Toilet Facilities): €55,000

Kill Shamrocks GAA (Develop New Playing Pitch): €29,000

Killinkere GFC (Additional changing room application): €41,000

Knockbride GFC (Main Pitch Upgrade) €30,000
