Dutch artist finds answers through new exhibition

The artist behind an exhibition, entitled 'An Awakening', officially opened in Cavan County Museum says that it charts her quest to seek meaning in her life. Dutch born artist, Rikki Van den Berg, had the honour to be the first artist to show her work at the museum's 'Eden Gallery' and novelist and playwright Shane Connaughton along with chairman of Cavan County Council, Sean McKiernan, and Cllr Paddy Smith were on hand to help celebrate the occasion. The name of the new space is taken from Percy French's song Come back Paddy Reilly to Ballyjamesduff, which begins with the lyrics: 'The Garden of Eden has vanished they say but I know the lie of it still'.
