The Would Be's have released their second single - Let's Play Dumb

Would Be's play dumb with second single

With a triumphant comeback after two decades away from the music scene releasing, 'Ivy Avenue', The Would Be's return with their next single, 'Let's Play Dumb' out on Friday, November 2 with FIFA records. It was back in the '90s, after being championed by John Peel, touring with Morrissey, making NME's single of the week and finally having to choose a signing with one of 14 record labels, The Would Be's rising star suddenly imploded. (Here's how they sounded back in the '90s):

&feature=relmfu Here's what the press bumpfh says about the new single: "'Let's Play Dumb' transports that band to right now, sprinkled with some life experience to add to a musicality that manages to be both fresh and evolved. The new single fuses soulful indie pop with a deeper sentiment, illuminating perfectly Eamonn Finnegan's songwriting, and effortlessly captured by Aidine O'Reilly's brass with brothers Paul and Mattie Finnegan nimble fretwork. "'Let's Play Dumb' drifts between bright to brooding, sultry to uplifting, with a hint of fragility in Julie McDonnell's vocals; adding to the layers and depth that is The Would Be's sound of 2012." See next week's Celt newspaper for a review. With appearances at Electric Picnic and Leopardstown and a recent show with The Stunning at Vicar Street in September, The Would Be's have re-acquainted themselves with loyal fans and connected with a new generation of listeners as they continue now where once they left off. The band are currently in studio recording a long-awaited album set for release in 2013.
