WHAT: Variety Concert for the ongoing upkeep of MacNean Resource Centre, Blacklion, which takes place on Friday, May 12, at 8pm in the Resource Centre. Lots of local talent on the night. Admission €8.

Lourdes Fund Cake Sale

WHAT: Cake Sale, this Saturday and Sunday, May 13-14, after Masses at both churches in Lavey area. Your support would be much appreciated to help to support two young local lads who are travelling over as helpers.

 

5km walk fundraiser

WHAT: Crosserlough GAA are hosting 5km Walk on Saturday, May 13, starting at the GAA Clubrooms. All proceeds going to U14 Féile (boys and girls). Everyone welcome. Refreshments served.

 

Pioneer Dinner Dance

Where: St Dympna's Church Upper Lavey and later The Lavey Inn.

When: Sunday 14th May at 3pm.

What: East Cavan PTAA Mass and Dinner Dance. The mass will take place at 3pm and will feature the presentation of pins. Then everyone will proceed to the Lavey Inn for the Dinner Dance at 4.30pm.

 

Fishing competition

O’Neill Branch ONE

WHERE: Cavan Town

WHAT: Ecumenical service in remembrance of deceased members of all forces (Permanent, Reserve, FCA, Gardaí, Civil Defence and Red Cross) on Sunday, May 14. Assembling outside St Clare's Church Cavan at 1.30pm for 2pm service followed by parade to the UN House (Ashvale), Swellan where light refreshments will be served.

 

Mayor Run

WHERE: Maudabawn

WHAT: Run with your mayor for 5km on Sunday, May 14, at 2pm from Gallonray House. This run is aid of Gerry's campaign. Registration from 1.30pm. Adults €10, children free. It will be followed by barbecue evening and entertainment.

 

Oldcastle Vintage Club

WHAT: Annual Vintage Tractor Road Run in aid of Meath Multiple Sclerosis, Sunday, May 14, 12 noon sharp. Registration from 11am with assembly at Teddies Pub, Moylagh.

 

Cavan Birdwatch

WHERE: Bailieborough

WHAT: Dawn Chorus walk at Castle Lake forest, meeting at 4.30am in lakeshore car park. Wear sturdy footwear. The walk will last about an hour and we recommend wearing warm clothes and bringing along a snack and hot drink to enjoy afterwards.
