A residential roadside farm of about 128 acres in a scenic setting at Ramulligan, Redhills, Co Cavan has been sold by private treaty for a total of €1.2 million in three divisions, by Stradone auctioneer and valuer, Charles Clerkin.

The selling agent expressed his satisfaction with the sale:

"In the present climate, I would consider it a good price," said Mr. Clerkin, who also believed it to be a positive aquisition. "It's a good farm. It has the two lakes on it and is in a good location just outside Redhills."

Mr. Clerkin told the Anglo-Celt that the three buyers were three local farmers, while the the under-bidder was from Northern Ireland. The land borders Ramulligan Lough and Cloandra Lough, and has a two-storey property. Solicitor was Paul Kelly, Cavan.Charles J. Clerkin now has three more farms for sale by private treaty.

Knockateggart, Stradone is a residential farm extending to about 72 acres. Accommodation comprises two reception rooms, a kitchen/dining room, utility room, three bedrooms and a bathroom. According to the auctioneer, the lands are on "good heart and laid out in good-sized divisions". As well as the private residence, the land has a silage pit, cubicle house, milking parlour and other out offices.
