Residents in two Clúid housing projects in Cavan will be able to avail of a single one-stop-shop contact centre for all queries relating to their housing in the near future.
Clúid is a voluntary housing association, which develops and manages rented housing for people on low incomes and people with special needs.
The association manages two projects in Cavan at Belturbet and Swanlinbar. From January 2012 onwards, residents of these projects will be able to avail of Clúid's new contact centre.
The centre will be the first of its kind in Ireland - the first ever centralised contact centre for social housing tenants - and will serve as a single point of contact for all Clúid residents, in Cavan.
Kathleen Cottier, regional director for Clúid East, said: "The contact centre will serve our residents in Cavan for all their queries relating to housing, about repair and maintenance, rent management and other housing issues. The centre will also serve prospective tenants, businesses, Clúid contractors, members of the public and our residents throughout Ireland."
The idea behind the new centre is that it will serve as the first port of call for our residents for all of their housing queries.
Twenty per cent of calls from our tenants relate to repair requests and one of our main aims will be to respond to these requests in a more efficient manner, Ms Cottier added.
By opening the contact centre, the association will be able to respond to the needs of the customers in a most effective way, while providing the highest standard of customer service.
Staff will provide hands-on support and advice to residents, and the association will aim to resolve the majority of calls at the first point of contact.
