Excess alcohol

Arnis Zagans (44), Graddum, Crosserlough, was fined €150 and disqualified from driving for three years at Virginia District Court for driving with excess alcohol 191mg/100ml blood at Keenagh, Ballyjamesduff, on September 6.

Possessed cannabis

A young Ballyjamesduff woman who was convicted of possessing cannabis and ordered to donate €100 to the Cavan Drug Awareness Centre but failed to do so was fined €150 when the came back before Virginia District Court. Tammy Judd, 12 Sally gardens, Dublin Street, Ballyjamesduff, had been given the opportunity to pay €150 but failed to do so. Judge Sean MacBride changed the donation to a fine.

Careless driving

Liam Cassidy, Greagh, Corlough, Belturbet, was ordered to donate €1,000 to Virginia Community Alert when he pleaded guilty before the local district court to a reduced charge of careless driving at Drummanbane, New Inns, Ballyjamesduff, on June 19.

Bench warrant

At a sitting of Cavan District Court last Thursday, bench warrants were issued for Joseph Mannering (21), 117 Drumnaveil, Cootehill who failed to appear to answer a public order charge and Gerard Keogh, 42 Oakleigh, Old Balreask Woods, Navan, who failed to appear regarding an alleged offence of possession of a prescription that had been altered.
