Crannóg is crowned Bookshop of the Year

The Church Street bookshop owned by John McEvoy, was crowned 'Bookshop of the Year' at the glittering Bord Gais Energy Book of the Year Awards ceremony in the RDS last Thursday evening where President Michael D Higgins was guest of honour and Nobel laureate Seamus Heaney was among the award recipients.
But while Mr Heaney took the Bob Hughes Lifetime Achievement Award remarking how great it is to have a poet as President, top honours on the bookshop front went to John for the readers' haven he opened in 1996.
