The best Christmas ever for Meadhbh!

Asked if she has any plans or resolutions for 2012, brave Meadhbh says: "I'm looking forward to getting really better and getting back to school and seeing all my friends again. I'm really looking forward to getting riding a bike."
When I speak to the McGiverns it's three months and a day since Meadhbh had her life-saving liver transplant on September 15.
That the 15-year-old is housebound and immuno-compromised (she must not come into contact with anyone with so much as a cough or a coldsore or she could end up back in hospital) is what she and her Dad consider a minor blip.
"That's only a small part of the bigger picture," says dad, Joe. "Generally, her liver has taken well, her body has accepted it and she's doing extremely well."
Roll back a Christmas or two and with progressive liver failure Meadhbh was weak, in pain and unsure whether she'd see another one.
