Killinkere Gospel Singers to pay tribute to Anna

The renowned Killinkere Gospel Singers have reunited to pay tribute to a former member and wonderful friend, the late Anna Sharkey, next Saturday night, April 17, in Killinkere Leisure Centre at 8.30pm. Inspired by Pauline Sheridan, the group have put a programme together of their favourite songs and instrumentals from all of their shows down through the years including Anna's favourite, Something Inside So Strong by Labi Siffre. Many will be delighted to know that the original band fondly known as Maybe James will accompany the singers in what promises to be a wonderful night of music and song portraying many hours of very enjoyable dedicated rehearsals. Harmonies are the main focus of the group with Jennifer McCabe, the musical director, encouraging everybody to take their performance to new levels. This will be an unrepeatable, very special night for all involved. Audience will be admitted on the night and there will be new tiered seating in place, courtesy of Charles Clarke. Entertaining you on the night will be the singers: Noreen Heaney, Christine Conaty, Pauline Sheridan, Marian Leavey, Dympna Roe, Marcella Higgins, Margaret Fulton, Eileen Fulton, Margaret Condron, Vincie Clarke, Joe Sharkey, Nicholas Sharkey, Padraig Sheridan, Phelim Sharkey, Martin Sharkey with director and soloist Jennifer McCabe; narrator Tony Router; on whistle and flute Ciara Donohoe; the band are Carl Banks on keyboards, Joey Kavanagh on guitar, Paddy Buckley on bass guitar, Kenneth McCabe on drums and percussion; on stage management, Joe Fulton; and on sound and lighting Michael and Kevin Callery.
