Some 722 students who sat their Leaving Cert exams in schools in County Cavan in June will receive their results today.

More boys than girls sat the exams with 378 boys and 344 girls sitting papers in the county.

An additional 54 students in the county sat their Leaving Cert Applied (LCA).

Nationally, almost 57,900 students will pick up their results.

Most students will collect their results at their schools this morning, though the results are available online from 12 noon at www.examinations.ie using your exam number and PIN.

The results obtained in most subjects this year followed broadly similar patterns to those of previous years.

Students unhappy with their results can view their scripts free of charge but applications to do so must be lodged in the school by August 24.

Results in any subject can be appealed to the Exam Commission by 5pm on Wednesday, September 8.

The first round of CAO offers are due to be out by next Monday, August 23.
