Polyester conglomerate acquires Wellman for €42m

The purchase of Wellman International by the Indorama Group is being greeted with cautious optimism by people in Mullagh and throughout the North Midlands and Border regions.
Indorama with its headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand, is one of the world's largest manufacturers of polyester and of wool yarns; while Wellman is Europe's largest manufacturer of polyester fibre products generated from recycled materials.
