County council considering challenge to septic tank laws

Cavan County Council are not accepting the Department of Environment stipulation that all septic tank owners throughout the state must register and carry our remedial works as required under proposed new legislation.
It was the forthright view of all councillors at Monday's monthly meeting that home owners in rural County Cavan had already complied with those necessary requirements and shouldn't have to do so again.
